Important Reminders for the School Year
Start of School Day
Children are permitted in the building after 7:20 a.m. School begins promptly at 7:40 a.m. The school day ends at 2:40.
Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. and they MUST be accompanied to the office with a parent or guardian to sign in.
Breakfast is served from 7:20 a.m. to 7:40 a.m.
Car drop-off is off of Shand Street.
For safety reasons, students are not to be dropped off on Moultrie or King Street. Please do not park on Moultrie or King Street.
Parking tickets will be issued for any cars parking on King Street.
Walkers and Biker use the Moultrie Street entrance.
Dismissal
Contact the school before 1:30 p.m. if there is a transportation change
If you must pick up your child early, please do so before 2:15 p.m.. After this time, please wait until after the dismissal announcements
at 2:30p.m.

During carpool, display your child's placard in the front windshield of the car. If someone else has your permission to pick up your child, please give that person the placard. If the person does not have the placard, they will have to come into the front office and show identification.

Absences
If your child is absent from school, a signed note must be sent to school with your child in order for the absence to be considered excused.
Cell Phone Policy
The Charleston County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees approved Policy JICJ, "Prohibition of Personal Electronic Devices During the School Day," in November 2024.
Beginning January 6, 2025, students from kindergarten through 12th grade must turn off and store personal electronic devices during school hours unless authorized for specific purposes.
All electronic devices to be powered off and stored in classroom lockers (3rd-6th) or lockers (7th-8th) during the instructional school day. Violations of this cell phone policy will be addressed according to the CCSD Progressive Discipline Plan.
