Computer Lab

James Simons Elementary Technology

Students ages 4 and up visit the computer lab once a week for 40 minutes during their Related Arts block.  We use the computers to explore, research, learn, create, communicate and collaborate .  The lessons are designed to successfully prepare our students for the 21st century.  Our standards are aligned with the International Society for Technology in Education (ITSE).

This is my ninth year at James Simons and I
am so happy to be your student's Technology Teacher.  My husband and I have lived in Charleston for 20 years and I have two children ages 14 and 18.  I have a Masters' Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky and previously served as the Media Specialist at James Simons.  Before my family came along, I worked for the Charleston County Public Library as a manager at the West Ashley Branch in Windermere.  My goal is to provide your student with digital literacy skills for the 21st century and make them feel comfortable using technology in a safe, supportive and collaborative environment.   Please feel free to observe technology classes in the computer lab at any time!
