Students Read for the Record
Over 240 JSE students read Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar Thursday, October 8th as part of Read for the Record Day. They and students all over Charleston county and the country were trying to break the World's Record for the most people reading the same book on the same day. Students participated in storytime in the media center with Principal Owings reading to several groups. They also created butterfly crafts with the help of sixth grade students and volunteers from Trident Technical College. It was a great day for reading at James Simons Elementary.

Teachers worked hard at Mcteacher's night October 22nd.
Thank you Rotary Club Members for helping during the Day of Caring. Our Media Center entrance is now painted and looks great and our Incentive Room is prepared to reward the students at JSE who follow the 3 Rs - respect, responsibility and resourcefulness.
